Socialization Clubs

In November 2017 I created a free "Puppy Club," as I honestly feel that the puppy socialization phase window is far too short and too important to miss out on. For various reasons (language barrier is a big one!) it seems that many new owners do not get their puppies into early socialization groups and, sadly, wait until certain problems have already become well-established and very frustrating before seeking help.

Since behavioral problems are by far the number one reason dogs end up in shelters, I feel it is crucial to get qualified information to new puppy owners from the beginning.

Preschool Puppy Club will be offered in English, once a week for 60 minutes starting on the 8th of February 2018

Course Dates/Times: In 2018, Puppy Preschool Club will be offered on Thursdays from 18:30:00-19:30 (for pups 7 - 20 weeks of age)

Course Size: Maximum 6 dogs.

Cost: FREE when enrolled in a Puppy Start Right Preschool Course. (Space permitting, non-enrolled clients may attend at the cost of CHF 20.00/dog per evening)

Puppy Club will be offered in English, once a week for 60 minutes.

Course Dates/Times: In 2018, Puppy Club will be offered on Sundays from 17:00-18:00 (for pups 16 - 28 weeks of age)

Course Size: Maximum 6 dogs.

Cost: FREE when enrolled in a Puppy Brain & Body Course or Private or Family Lessons. (Space permitting, non-enrolled clients may attend at the cost of CHF 20.00/dog per evening)

Since Puppy Club was such a success, I have decided to expand the idea and create a Junior Dog Club (Once a week for 90 minutes) free for people with dogs between 7-12 months of age who are enrolled in a Junior Dog Training Course (group or private lessons). This course continues and advances the “socialization” process of the dog. Owners can benefit from further household management advice as well as building a solid foundation of fun, positive training habits for the dog’s life.(Please note that this course is intended as a supplement to (not a replacement of) private or group junior dog training courses!)

Course Dates/Times: In 2018, Junior Dog Club will be offered on Sundays from 15:45-16:45. (Please call ahead if you plan to attend and /or to check availability.)

Course Size: Maximum 6 dogs.

Cost: FREE when enrolled in a Junior Brain & Body Course or Private or Family Lessons. (Space permitting, non-enrolled clients may attend at the cost of CHF 20.00/dog per evening)

NOTE: these are NOT obedience training programs nor problem-behavior-modification programs! If you need special attention for your puppy’s issues, please contact me to discuss private or family lessons, or to join one of our young dog courses.

The progression of the sessions will be "organic" rather than linear, since not everyone will be able to attend every single lesson. That means that the next session will not necessarily “build on” something that was covered in the previous session. (Although regulars will definitely benefit more than those coming only sporadically.)

Puppies/ Junior dogs must be de-wormed, vaccinated and in good health: (no vomiting, diarrhea or eye/ear infections).

(People accompanying the dogs should also please be in good health!)

Children are VERY welcome, however, children under 10 years of age should be accompanied by a second adult – one adult to keep an eye on the puppy and another to pay attention to the child.
